Blossen

Blossen (Openings) are the four areas of attack. They are not specific targets of attack , such as the wrist or neck, but general zones of the body. The dividing line for the left and right Blossen is the opponent's centerline. The dividing line for the upper and lower Blossen is referred to in the texts as the "belt line." This must not be confused with the modern belt line located at the hips. The medieval belt line is approximately even with the navel.
