Classes

As of September 11th, 2016, Ars Gladii will begin holding our classes at Salle d’Etroit Fencing Academy on most Sundays. While we will always have a fondness for the shady and dusty park, the stability that having a permanent indoor locations with bathrooms, lockers, gear storage, etc. will bring great things! We’re excited for this new chapter in Ars Gladii history!

Introduction Sessions

Ars Gladii requires all new students to go through our Introduction to Historical Martial Arts course (previously called our Beginners session). This set of classes introduces the student to historical martial arts, body mechanics, wrestling, and a common body of swordplay which later classes will build upon. These courses are offered at the beginning of every quarter and require pre-registration.

Membership

With our recent work towards non-profit status and a more formal membership structure, we are moving towards a yearly membership application and fee. All students who have received an invitation to become a full member will need to pay a yearly membership fee of $65 dollars. This money is used to cover our incorporating, operational, and insurance costs for the year. Monthly class and Introduction class fees are used to pay for the space rental, purchase/maintain equipment, and hold special events that helps the club grow and prosper. As a non-profit entity, none of the fees charged are paid out to board, officer, or internal instructor positions.

Full members of the club are welcome to attend all events and classes put on by Ars Gladii. During normal Sunday sessions, this grants members the ability to attend either the current Introduction session class or an Open Class.
